US HUPO has initiated an annual award in memory of Robert J. Cotter. The first annual award was given in Baltimore at the US HUPO 9th Annual Conference in Baltimore, MD. In addition US HUPO hosts Poster Awards in two categories --Best Poster presented by a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Best Poster presented by a Graduate Student.
Robert J. Cotter New Investigator Award
Bob Cotter was a founding Board Member of US HUPO. In addition to organizing the very successful 2008 annual conference in Baltimore he served as Treasurer for many years. To honor Bob's legacy as a mentor of young investigators the Board of Directors initiated an annual award in his honor. The first award was presented in 2013 at the annual conference, appropriately in Bob's adopted hometown of Baltimore, MD. The Board of Directors nominated and selected the first recipient.
